Secrets of the Sommeliers Concept Book
Producer Sarah Adler and I brought Rajat Parr’s concept book for Secrets of the Sommeliers to life by expressing for the first time insight regarding the skills, knowledge and perspectives of the most savvy and smart wine professionals in the country. While the best sommeliers run multi-million dollar wine programs in the finest restaurants in the world, they also deal with wine on an intimate level that is applicable to casual drinkers, studied aficionados, and anyone in between.
In its discussion of sommeliers, winemakers, wine regions, tasting tips, restaurants, wine buying strategies, wines, and food pairing, the Secrets of the Sommeliers concept book revealed the sommelier’s unique perspective on wine.
The idea of the book was to be sophisticated enough to satisfy readers in the wine and food trade, but accessible enough to appeal to the casual enthusiast.
The actual finished book Secrets of the Sommeliers won a James Beard award.
